Elizabeth Berkley is an American actress who began her career as a teen model for Elite. Not long after, she started an acting career by appearing in the TV movie Frog in 1987. She later had several guest appearances in various television shows. In 1989, she landed the role of Jessica Spano in the hit teen high school sitcom “Saved by the Bell.” She played the said character from 1989 to 1993 and also starred in the show’s TV movie franchise.
In 1995, Elizabeth Berkley starred in the film “Showgirls,” directed by Paul Verhoeven. She later auditioned for roles in quality films, including the comedy “The First Wives Club” opposite Diane Keaton, Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn. She also bagged the title role in the anime video “Armitage III: Poly Matrix” opposite Kiefer Sutherland. She later had a role in the indie movie “The Real Blonde.”
Her other film credits include “The Taxman,” “Tail Lights Fade,” “Roger Dodger,” and “Moving Malcolm.” Elizabeth Berkley also had a brief role in Oliver Stone’s “Any Given Sunday” starring Al Pacino, and Woody Allen’s “The Curse of the Jade Scorpion.”
On stage, Elizabeth Berkley landed on the role of Honey in the London production of “Lenny.” Later she made her Broadway debut in “Sly Fox,” and the off Broadway production of David Rabe’s “Hurlyburly,” in which she received critical praise for her performance.
Over the years, Elizabeth Berkley had roles on various television shows such as “CSI,” “NYPD: Blue,” “Without a Trace,” “Threshold,” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.” She also had a role in the sitcom “Titus,” and the TV movie “Student Seduction.”
In 2007, Elizabeth Berkley starred in the TV movie “Black Widow.” In the same year she starred in the film “Meet Market,” opposite Julian McMahon and Krista Allen. In 2008, she bagged the role of Julia Winston in “CSI: Miami,” and became part of the shows sixth season.
Later the same year, Elizabeth Berkley became the host of the reality series “Step It Up and Dance” on the Bravo channel. The series garnered successful ratings and became one of the network’s highest rated shows. She also made a short film alongside Thomas Jane in “The Butler’s in Love,” directed by David Arquette.
In 2009, Elizabeth Berkley starred in “The L Word” during its sixth season. She also reprised her role in “CSI: Miami” and was chosen to play a role in the “Donnie Darko” sequel, “S. Darko.”
Elizabeth Berkley is bound to star in the comedy “Women in Trouble” and an MTV reality series intended for teenage girls currently entitled “Ask-Elizabeth.”
